Our story
FLUOREM is a French company based at Ecully near Lyon, created in May 2000, to develop market and support high performance computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software for aerospace, aeronautic, automotive and general industries applications. The purpose was the implementation of a cutting edge technology, which expands the capabilities of in-house or commercial CFD codes, the sector of the PLM market which knows the strongest progression actually.
This innovative technique for fast CFD allows the full incorporation of the CFD in the industrial multidisciplinary process – it reduces design cycles by 30% (by reducing aerodynamic calculation times by more than 1000!) and experimental costs by 10% - and brings thus a great contribution to the field of the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization.
2000
Creation of Fluorem, spin-off of Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics and Acoustic of the National Center of Scientific Research. This lab is affiliated with the Ecole Centrale de Lyon.
2002
During its 2nd operating year, FLUOREM has been the winner of the Eurowards Europeans start up with its software: Turb'Opty™. This reward allows FLUOREM to participate to European program and to attract investors.
2003
FLUOREM becomes the exclusive distributor of Newmerical Technologies International (NTI), a Montreal-based company that provides state-of-the-art software and engineering services especially for in-flight icing simulations.
2004
Launch of Turb’Design™, the first CFD software allowing non-linear sensibility studies.
2005
Launches Turb’Opty™, the industrial version of CFD parameterization software. Fluorem becomes an active member of LUTB, one of the biggest French pole of competitiveness, and participates for the first time to the Bourget Air Show.
2007
Launches of Turb’Lin™, the solver for aeroelasticity applications. Turb’Opty is extended to transonic applications, and Fluorem reinforces its collaborations with its great customers (Safran, Airbus, Valeo). It participates again to the Bourget Air Show.
2009
FLUOREM improves its international presence thanks to a new partnership with Software Cradle Co., an important Japanese firm based in Osaka and already implanted in Asia and North America. This collaboration has two goals, first the distribution of Cradle Co. products and mostly a technological partnership aimed to bring strategic improvements.
