SC Tetra : CFD software by Cradle
SC/Tetra is an all-in-one general purpose Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software using unstructured mesh (tetrahedron, pentahedron and hexahedron). It has been developed since 1998 with the specific purpose of "Easily enabling calculation of complex geometries". SC/Tetra provides both automatic mesh generation and a Wizard based interface that guides the user through the set-up process step by step.
Turbomachinery and CFD
Turbomachinery is among the most complex problems encountered in CFD. Flows are generally unsteady, high speed, rotational, and geometries typically have a high degree of curvature, leading to a strongly tri-dimensional swirling turbulent flow. Precise and high level modelings are then necessary to treat such flows. Thus rotating boundary (ALE) function, transient analysis, mixed flows, parallel computing are all assets used to carry out the simulation of rotating blades, propeller fans, turbofans, etc...
